Photo: After Mark Rothko

Well, here's a photographic entry I submitted to a photo forum "challenge." The task was to submit a shot that Largerothkowas inspired by "art." The idea was not to take a shot of a statue, or painting, but rather to process a shot in such a way that it looked "arty" or to submit a shot that was inspired by a great artist, a great work of art, a particular genre/style, etc.

I chose to submit this shot because it reminded me of the abstract expressionist work of Mark Rothko, especially his color prints of his middle and late periods. The shot itself was fairly simple to take (bet you can't tell what the subject was!), but it looked rather plain as a simple shot so I decided to frame it as if it were an art print.

Let me know what you think? The EXIF data for the original shot: Nikon D40, ISO 200, f/5.6, 0,8 sec, 70mm, Handheld, No Flash
